In June, Bloomington Garden Club presents its Annual Summer Garden Walk consisting of five or six private gardens and a spectacular Flower Show held at the Hilltop Garden & Nature Center, Indiana University, 2367 E. 10th Street. For the price of a $10 ticket, good for both days, private gardens and the Flower Show are opened to the public for four hours on both Saturday and Sunday.
Gardens on the Garden Walk, each unique and special in its own way, may be located close to one another but also may be spread through various Bloomington neighborhoods.
Watercolor artists paint in each of the gardens and at the Flower Show on Garden Walk days.
Garden Walk tickets provide a clearly labeled map of Flower Show and garden locations as well as addresses and descriptions of gardens at each address. Gardens may be visited in any order, and visitors are invited to explore at their own pace.
Beginning May 1, Garden Walk tickets are available from local stores, listed under VENDORS, and from members of The Bloomington Garden Club. During the Garden Walk tickets are available from vendors and at all of the gardens.
Annual Summer Garden Walk sponsors help defray costs of presenting the Garden Walk, and Garden Walk proceeds are awarded as grants to nonprofit organizations for community garden projects.
