What is the annual Summer Garden Walk?

In June, Bloomington Garden Club presents its Annual Summer Garden Walk consisting of five or six private gardens plus a Flower Show. For the price of a $10 ticket, good for both days, private gardens and a Flower Show are opened to the public for four hours on both Saturday and Sunday.

Gardens on the Garden Walk, each unique and special in its own way, may be located close to one another but also may be spread through various Bloomington neighborhoods.

Watercolor artists paint in each of the gardens and at the Flower Show on Garden Walk days.

Garden Walk tickets provide a clearly labeled map of garden locations as well as addresses and descriptions of gardens at each address. Gardens may be visited in any order, and visitors are invited to explore at their own pace.

Beginning May 1, tickets are available from listed local vendors and from members of The Bloomington Garden Club. During the Garden Walk tickets are available at Monroe County History Center, 202 E. Sixth Street in Bloomington and at any of the gardens.

The annual Flower Show, located at the Monroe County History Center, showcases spectacular large and small floral arrangements created around a theme by members of Bloomington Garden Club.

Annual Summer Garden Walk sponsors help defray costs of presenting the Garden Walk, and proceeds are awarded as grants to nonprofit organization for community garden projects.
