Each summer, on one weekend, the Bloomington Garden Club organizes its annual Summer Garden Walk with the gracious support of local garden owners who prepare and make their gardens available. Gardens, open for specified hours on both Saturday and Sunday, are chosen for their plant selection, design, and appeal.
This garden includes a wide variety of plants carefully placed in sun and/or shade to meet each plant’s needs. The choice of plant and its color and shape are carefully chosen to provide a relaxing environment. Plants also contribute to owner privacy.
Visitors are welcomed with a colorful array of perennials outlining the walkway. Discover raised beds of vegetables and herbs, mature trees, and potted annuals, as well as a pergola, clematis, and trees. Color choices blend to create a relaxing environment garden.
Part of the fun in visiting private gardens is the whimsy that some gardeners introduce. In this garden, look for the unusual integrated with the often used plants and shrubs. This garden has so much to offer!
This park-like garden is amazing with visitor seating, outlined creek beds, well designed plant beds, and interesting plant selection. All parts are well integrated.
A pollinator garden greets visitors and draws them in to view the wildflower garden and vegetable garden. Visitors will note how well this garden is maintained— the sign of a well-loved garden.
